Case Disaster Response Container

A disaster is an accident of such magnitude that it renders the usual resources of the emergency services and health care insufficient.

The most likely causes for disasters are road, rail and air traffic accidents, fires, building collapses and chemical accidents where the number of casualties is larger than usual and greater than the resources of everyday rescue and first response services.

The disaster response container (SURO-container) contains additional equipment and tools needed in a disaster situation. The container is a ”disaster response toolkit” that is easily transportable to the vicinity of the disaster site. The SURO container for Oulu-Koillismaa Emergency Services Department is scaled for 100-150 persons and is available for use in the whole of their operational area
